History and archaeology are intimately connected, and Hampi is the perfect place to explore this connection. The historical records and accounts of the Vijayanagara Empire provide a context for the archaeological finds, while the archaeology helps to fill in gaps in the historical record and shed light on aspects of life that may not have been documented. The study of History & Archeology illuminate the larger story of humanity and our place in it. The activities and lessons in this program are designed to help students connect with how people in the past lived and understand how scientists study people who lived hundreds and even thousands of years ago.
